Frequently Asked Questions

1. What payment methods do you accept?

We do not accept cash, checks, moneyorders or orders over the phone or FAX — just payments by PayPal (which you can use even if you don't have a PayPal account, by merely using your credit OR debit card via their secure online form). YOU NEVER HAVE TO GIVE US YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS.

And you receive buyer protection from PayPal to assure that you receive the merchandise you ordered. Without a doubt, PayPal is the most widely trusted online payment method around the world. We are a seller in good standing.

2. I am finished shopping. How do I check out?

You will love the speed and streamlined checkout experience. Whether you buy only 1 CD or several from GOOD MUSIC,  when you click the ADD TO CART button found on each CD description page, the item will be added to your shopping cart. When you go to check out, your cart will be automatically updated with all your intended purchases and after you type in your zip code or country, shipping rates will be calculated. So you will know the total before you complete the purchase. (You can even remove an item or change the quantity at this time). You also will SAVE MONEY and be given discounts on shipping, based on how many CDs you buy.

When you decide to check out, (or if you merely wish to see the items in your Shopping Cart), just go to our home page (by clicking our logo on any page). When you arrive back at our home page, then just click the Checkout link in the black bar at the top, directly under our yellow logo. You will be automatically taken to PayPal’s secure online order page which maintains the world’s highest level of online encryption security to protect your privacy. None of your credit card details are ever shared with us. We are only sent the name(s) of the CD(s) and/or DVD(s) you purchased and your mailing address.

3. Why do you show the prices in dollars?

Even though we are located in the EU, the U.S. dollar is the world standard currency. However, when you finish shopping on our GOOD MUSIC site and wish to submit your order, if you live outside the U.S., PayPal automatically converts the dollar into your local currency, so you always know exactly what the cost will be. (In fact, PayPal's system translates the dollar into 24 currencies in 190 countries!)

4. Why didn’t I receive an email confirmation of my order?

When you complete the purchase process, a screen appears from PayPal confirming your purchase and the amount you paid. We do not send you any additional email(s) (1) unless there is a delay in fulfilling your order(s); or (2) until the order is actually shipped. In the latter case, we routinely submit tracking information to PayPal, and their system automatically generates an email notification which it sends to you. If you don't receive any notification, please check your SPAM folder. Often a notice will end up being blocked by your email program. Also — sometimes it can take a day or two for this tracking number to show up on the postal system’s own website. Please be aware that once an order is mailed, no information is available to us from ANY post office ANYWHERE in the world as to the exact whereabouts of a package in transit aside from the initial entry into their system. The only thing we will ultimately receive is a delivery confirmation as to the time and date your order is received by you. Please note that this delivery confirmation is widely considered by courts as bonafide, legal proof of delivery as postal carriers scan in the bar code at the time they deliver the package to you.

5. How long will it take to receive my order?

We ship every day, Monday through Friday, with the exception of weekends or holidays. Depending on where you live in the world, we also rely on affiliates in the U.S., Canada, Europe, etc. who may be closer to your location, to ship our products to you, to expedite service.

ALL our CDs are sent in either bubble envelopes or cardboard boxes with a bar code and tracking number and you will be emailed this number when your shipment is posted. We usually ship very quickly, but as a standard disclaimer, we ask you to please allow at least 15 business days for delivery if you live in the North America, (though usually you will receive your order MUCH faster), and please be aware some locations in the world may take 3 weeks or longer. TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE STATUS OF YOUR ORDER, FEEL FREE TO EMAIL US AT: support@good-music.biz

Please understand that once a package leaves our hands, we are at the mercy of the postal carriers between us and you. We've seen packages travel halfway around the world and be delivered in two days, while occasionally a package will take a month to travel a few miles. It's totally unpredictable. But we provide you with proof of mailing on each order you place with us.

To save you money on postage, we combine shipping. We and our affiliates always try to keep all our CDs in stock. But occasionally if we run out of a CD, we will wait to ship your order until all the CDs you've requested can be sent in one package. If this occurs, we will inform you as to the status of any delay, and any such delay should always be a matter of only a few days. Our CDs are well worth waiting for!

6. My order is overdue. Why didn’t I receive it?

You'd be surprised how many times we receive incorrect address information from PayPal because of a customer error OR if a customer has failed to turn in a change of address notice to the post office and/or PayPal when they move. We always send merchandise to the address for you that we receive from PayPal and cannot be held liable if we received erroneous information.

Unless we are aware of a delay in dispatching your order (in which case we will notify you by email), our policy is to wait 30 days before declaring an order lost. Please note that PayPal gives merchants 20 days to mail an order. If you are not in the U.S., you should check with your local postal or customs office, as sometimes an order is held there. If your order has not arrived within these time frames, email us at support@good-music.biz and be sure to include your complete mailing address and the tracking number you were supplied. If you file a complaint with PayPal over the non-receipt of an item, the money is immediately taken out of our account but it does NOT go into your account until the matter winds its way slowly through their entire process, which can take weeks. You will not receive the money at all if we prove our case. So ultimately this will only DELAY resolution of the matter. So it is best to work with us directly in resolving any issue regarding non-delivery of CDs as we will do our very best to assist you in a timely, courteous and professional manner. We likewise expect you to comport yourself in a respectful and cooperative way. Do not send us flaming, accusatory or threatening emails as we will not allow customers to abuse us and we will forward any offensive emails directly to PayPal, which may then choose to suspend your account.

7. Who pays import fees?

You do. There is not even any way for us to pay your country's import fees (if any), nor would it be practical for us to do so. We mail to hundreds of countries around the world.

8. I've changed my mind about purchasing. Can I cancel my order?

Even though you may not have received a tracking number as yet, be aware that once you click the PayPal button to submit your order to us, our internal fulfillment process begins and at the very least we incur labor costs. It is not always possible for us to stop a shipment if a customer emails us to try to cancel an order. (We also rely on affiliates who may be closer to your location to handle some of our order fulfillment and we have no way of monitoring the status of their mailing until we receive tracking information from them). In which case, you will receive the merchandise and must return it to us as outlined in our Refund policy below. If, however, we are notified of your wish to cancel in time to stop the process, we will make an earnest effort to do so. If this occurs, please be aware that PayPal charges us a transaction fee even when a customer cancels, and we will deduct this fee when we send you a refund, to cover our costs.

9. What about refunds?

We cannot accept the return of any CDs/DVDs that have been opened (defined as being removed from the shrink wrap) or damaged. Period. If, however, you wish to return an unopened package, you may do so at your expense. PayPal charges us a fee for every transaction, even if a buyer decides to return an item. We will deduct this small fee from the amount we reimburse you when issuing your refund. Any refund(s) will be processed within 20 days of our receipt of the undamaged, unopened item, in full compliance with PayPal rules.

10. Why can I sometimes find CDs at cheaper prices on other sites?

We price all our CDs competitively and with only a small mark-up over our wholesale cost. However, be aware that the old saying applies here: “you get what you pay for.” if you see a price for a CD on some other site, even a so-called reputable one (you know who we mean), at a substantially lower price than ours, DON'T RISK BUYING IT! We must forewarn you that the music industry has been corrupted by cheap knock-offs that are flooding the marketplace. They are often very poorly manufactured or even bootlegs. Chances are you will be disappointed at the sound quality and/or bad packaging. A lot of these cheaper-priced CDs will not even play all the way through without skips or other problems! There are even companies that specialize in taking USED CDs, cleaning them up and re-sealing them in shrink wrap to make you think they are new! Hence they can re-sell them at a ridiculously low price. Also remember: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

We never knowingly sell any illegal CD or product of an inferior quality. We buy legitimate CDs from established labels and sources — not cheapo copies that have been replicated by substandard manufacturing methods to fool you into believing they are the same when, in fact, they are not. We take great care in assuring that all the CDs we sell are up to industry standards.

11. How can I hear the audio samples on your site and can I download them?

All of the audio samples on the GOOD MUSIC Store website consist of carefully selected excerpts chosen by us to be representative of the material contained on each CD, and edited into medley form from the actual CDs we sell. (We even utilize the services of a professional engineer for this purpose and spend many hours compiling these samples). These are in the mp3 format and are designed to be streaming, meaning you can play them through your computer but you cannot download them. To listen to a sample of a CD, just click the speaker item below the description, which looks like this:
speaker
We have opted to simplify the audio playback experience for the benefit of our customers. Some sites "embed" a fancy player that looks nice, but often does not perform well. Typically it is linked off-site and thus takes extra time to load. Some users do not have the requisite software to even make these fancy players function properly. We like to keep things simple.

FOR PC USERS: The Windows operating system has a built-in feature whereby when you click on an audio link, it launches a Media Player in a new window that you can re-size to whatever you want. This comes in handy for not covering up the page you're interested in. If, when you click the speaker icon, it does not start to play, or open in a new window, check the top of your browser to see if it has created a new tab. You may have to click the tab to access the audio page.

We recommend the following Microsoft Windows Operating Systems: Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and above or Mozilla Firefox 1.5 and above
.

FOR APPLE MACINTOSH COMPUTERS & IPADS: The Mac operating system also has built-in software that will automatically play mp3s though it typically does NOT open up in a separate window, meaning after you listen to the audio you must click the BACK button on your browser to return to the previous page. We recommend Apple Mac OS X Operating Systems: Mozilla Firefox 1.5 and above, Apple Safari 2.0.4 and above, or our favorite — Google Chrome Version 29.0 and above.

All of our music samples are on our Cloud based servers which are state-of-the-art, capable of handling unlimited bandwidth (traffic volume), and optimized for fast performance. Nobody has control over our audio samples but us. In the case of CDs that have a lot of tracks we may provide you with two or even three medleys to better acquaint you with what's on the CD.

If you encounter any difficulty with playback, first make sure your computer speakers are turned on and the volume is up! (We fervently hope you have a pair of external speakers connected to your computer instead of relying on the built-in speakers or you will not get a good representation of the quality of what we sell).

If the music playback is interrupted, if it starts and stops during play, this most likely stems from network congestion. So try visiting during off-peak hours. Internet usage is highest between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and again between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. High network traffic can also affect the quality of the samples. One trick is to click to start your player, then press pause. Let the entire audio sample load, and then click pause again to resume playing. Sometimes this helps.

Be forewarned that all music samples are copyright by their respective owners, and any use of them by you beyond listening to them on our site may constitute copyright infringement and subject you to civil and/or criminal penalties.

12. How can I contact you?

The best way is via email. Just write to: support@good-music.biz
Or you may write our physical address:
GOOD MUSIC STORE
Suite M0218
265-269 Kingston Road
Wimbledon
London
SW19 3NW
Telephone:

+44-2033183469 (Please DO NOT call with questions about the status of your orders; email us instead).

13. Do you protect my privacy?

In a word, YES! We absolutely do not share your personal information or email address with anyone. Period. You have our guarantee of utmost privacy. We may, however, at our sole discretion, on occasion alert you to new CDs we think you might be interested in, by sending you an email. We only do this sporadically, however, so don't worry about being overwhelmed with SPAM from us!

We hope you come back and visit our site on a regular basis because we will be adding more great CDs in the future. Often what we have here will be fresh new releases that we will get before anybody else, believe it or not. That's because we're plugged into some small labels here and there and often know about CDs before they're even released to the bigger sites.

And if you are an indie artist and/or small label and would like to see your product(s) sold here, be sure to contact us. Happy listening and please tell your friends about us by postng on Facebook, Twitter and anyplace else you can!
