The greatest singer ever
By Doris Gath on September 13, 2017
WOW, what a great CD!
Jim's voice has never sounded better, with the new
music backing his great voice. There is a wonderful
diversified blend of songs - from pop to country.
Although I personally
prefer having Jim do country ballads, he can do any
type of music with ease. I wrote him one time that I
didn't like him going "pop" like he was doing on his
daytime radio show. Jim wrote me back that he too
preferred country but it simply wasn't selling. He
said "If one crop doesn't grow, you plant another".
He also said "I hope we will still be friends
whether I'm singing opera or opry, ok?" Needless to
say, I forgave him!
Jim Reeves was blessed with one of the greatest
voices of all time
By Mark Shaw on October 9, 2017
Jim Reeves was blessed
with one of the greatest voices of all time. He was
known as a perfectionist in every aspect of his
life, and this characteristic was most manifest in
his music. Every note was flawlessly sung.
Fortunately, in creating
this CD, “Jim Reeves A New Way,” the producer and
his crew of professional musicians, arrangers and
engineers, have accorded Mr. Reeves the respect he
deserves. As I listened to each track, I was
continually amazed and impressed by their musical
They have lovingly taken
some of Jim’s best vocals — which, as a longtime
fan, I have heard countless times on various albums
and singles over the years — and somehow managed to
come up with compelling new settings that far
surpass the original arrangements and create the
illusion that Mr. Reeves is still recording today.
I especially enjoyed the
fact that the repertoire presented here ranges from
a bluegrass flavored number, to some toe-tapping
“Nashville Sound” treatments and even sophisticated,
pop-flavored offerings. You will find yourself
singing along and playing some songs over and over
This collection of songs
is a masterpiece, pure and simple.
It is irrefutable that you
can clearly hear Jim better on this release than you
can on the originals, (his voice is never
overpowered by the new accompaniment), and you will
gain even greater appreciation for his immense
talent when you listen. And each note is played with
the same exacting skill as Jim himself would have
Every element fits
together seamlessly, and the result is one of the
best Jim Reeves albums to ever be released anywhere
and at any time.
Sounds like Jim just
recorded this album today!

Incredible what they can do these days to make
recordings that were done more than a half century
ago, as in the case of Jim Reeves, and make them
sound so fresh and "current" that you would swear
Jim just stepped into the recording studio today.
His voice is so alive and so clear, it proves
again that among singers he had no peers. Every
track brought a big surprise. I was already very
familiar with Jim's songs as originally released,
but these new versions are true masterpieces! They
bring a whole new dimension to his music, with
their up-to-date instrumental accompaniment that
makes us feel like Jim is still with us. A very
moving and sentimental and THRILLING time we had

could sing like Jim Reeves could." I have
heard that phrase many times. This CD is proof
that statement is true. The richness and
beauty of his velvet baritone voice shine like
no other in the history of music. Jim is
simply one of a kind! It is so exciting to be
able to listen to his great voice in new
musical arrangements that help us feel that
this great artist is still among us. In a
sense, he's never really left. This is going
to be a CD you will play many many times!

guys. This CD is fantastic. I deliberately
chose not to hear any of the previews or
audio samples of this album as I don't like
spoilers. I knew it would be good anyway -
but not THAT good! Highly recommended! My
favourite is the title 'Most Of The Time'
but indeed they are ALL superb . Played it
non-stop for the last few days. Best Jim
Reeves album - thus far - by producer Larry
Jordon and team Thank you for this!
wow. How could this get any better? I
can't. Such pretty songs, sung by a
master, and all of it presented in new
arrangements that are FLAWLESS. There is
pretty strings and horns and guitars and
rhythm, all of it appropriate to the
song. From what I understand they
isolated Jim's voice and then added
totally new instrumentation. You would
never know that unless you were familiar
with the originals, because all this new
stuff fits so perfectly. Jim has a new
2018 CD out that sounds like it was all
done in 2018! And the duet with the
Norwegian singer has transformed an
original song that had a "talking steel
guitar" into a bonafide duet between two
lovers. Ms. Hollen sings so well, she's
a great compliment to Jim's baritone. A
fine choice. A fine CD. Highly

fantastic cd. Larry Jordon has gone
above and beyond in keeping Jim Reeves
music alive and well. These songs have
new music arrangements and one new duet
that sounds as if Jim just recorded it
today. A must have for all Jim Reeves
Jim Reeves, A New Way
By J. Walker on October 7, 2017
To put it quite simply, this
release is in my humble opinion one of
the best I have heard for a long time.
I would be quite surprised if this
album doesn't go a long way in
introducing Jim to modern day
audiences , thus broadening his appeal
to new listeners who were not even
born when tragedy struck way back in
1964. Jim as per usual delivers each
rendition with such finesse it's hard
to fault it but in reality Jim was
deadly serious about his music and he
I believe was never satisfied he was
always striving to do better.
Consequently he was just as hard on
himself as he could be on others.
Larry has been obviously doing pretty
much the same as Jim was striving to
get it right as he can do and it does
show. Wouldn't be surprised if he like
Jim were burning the midnight oil in
crafting such a good album. Bearing in
mind that I'm one of those who has a
hearing loss in my right ear I do find
it hard to pick up everything that may
be there. But even I can appreciate
the work that both Jim and Larry have
put into this CD.
I would at least to listen to
the sample tracks and then decide,
something tells me that you may well
be pleasantly surprised.

WAY, Worthy of Jim's Artistry!

can't stop listening to this CD of beautiful
Jim Reeves Music. One song I never liked
before:"I've enjoyed as much of this as I
can stand" is now very listenable and worthy
of Jim Reeves' artistry. The old version
used a voice synthesizer and was strange and
outdated. It now could easily be played on
the radio anywhere in the world today,in
2017. It is truly amazing that an artist
from over fifty years ago can sound so
contemporary and fresh today with the right
arrangements, instrumentation, and new
vocalists as backup singers and duet
accompaniments. The work on this recording is
excellent, reflecting what Jim Reeves would
want and with the consideration he deserves.
It may seem impossible to make Jim Reeves
sound any better, but this new CD recording
does just that, and "wonderfully so" indeed.
If you have never heard a recording by
"Gentleman Jim" this brand new overdub is a
good place to start.I f I were you, I'd
'start' listening to Jim Reeves TODAY; you
won't regret it.
I was not disappointed
By Tim Croteau on August 25, 2017
very excited to hear when this CD was
released. I was not disappointed. The
voice of this great vocalist is more clear
than ever, and is clearly the focal point
of this project. The new instrumentation
is top shelf, and doesn't drown out Mr.
Reeves, but instead, compliments him
greatly. Every song on here will be
listened to repeatedly by this life long
Jim Reeves fan. Great job!!
like to say that there is, and sadly
always will be naysayers on these
releases. To consider this recording
effort a "disappointment", is very strange
to me. To refer to Ms. Hones vocals on the
duet as "shrill", is totally off the mark.
urge anyone who loves, likes, or is
indifferent to Jim Reeves music to form
YOUR OWN opinion, and give this beautiful
CD a listen for yourself.
Sounds like they were just recordeed
By Dean on August 25, 2017
This cd is
fantastic. Jim Reeves sounds like he just
stepped into the recording studio and
recorded these songs. The new accompaniment
is in very good taste and enhances Mr.
Reeves' vocals. You can tell it was done by
professional musicians. If it has been
awhile since you listened to a Jim Reeves
song, or have never heard him sing, you owe
it to yourself to get this cd.

I heard Jim
Reeves through my mother years ago. This
came across my recommendations and I was
pleasantly surprised at the clarity of the
sound! I sat around Mom and Dad's "hifi" and
listened for hours at a time while she
cooked and cleaned waiting for dad to come
home. I don't remember them ever sounding so
clear and lifelike. I can tell there are
some new instruments playing but they fit
the overall mood of the song and don't
distract in the least. Very pleasant
additions to some sparse recordings. Mom
would love this if only she could hear it!
Thank you for giving my old music new ears!
An amazing fete of engineering and musical
By Jim Sperling on January 3, 2018
To take Jim
Reeves masters and isolate his voice so that
there isn't a trace of the original
instrumentation, and then build whole new
arrangements around his vocals -- and do it
so well -- is the height of professionalism,
so a round of applause for everybody
involved in this amazing project! I don't
know how they did it. Jim NEVER sounded
better. His voice is flawless, and the tone
and "presence" are beautiful that words
cannot capture. I loved all the new
"treatments," like the strings and guitar on
"I Guess I'm Crazy," the very sophisticated
new pop arrangement on "Just Out of Reach,"
the gorgeous strings on "I Love You Because"
(which completes the song IMHO). "Don't Let
Me Cross Over" takes on a whole new feel
with the great band playing on the new
overdub. "Carolina Moon" was one of my
parents' favorite and it is featured with
such a pretty new arrangement. I never
realized before just how strong some of
Jim's album material was. A case in point:
"After Loving You", which should have been
become a #1 hit single. "Stand In" is
brilliant now. Oh -- one of my favorites was
"There's A New Moon Over My Shoulder" which
now has a rousing Latin rhythm and horns.
BRILLIANT! You won't be disappointed. You've
GOT to experience this great new CD!
