“Greater Vision: Everyday People” is quite simply one of the best albums by one of the best groups in Southern Gospel music today. With this release, the men moved back toward their earlier style. Most of the arrangements are simpler and not so highly orchestrated, and that's okay with us. We like the guitar work especially. There is an elegance to the simplicity. Even so, the vocal harmonies are deceptively complex.

Since organizing in 1990, Greater Vision has been inspiring audiences with their rich blend and their ability to effectively communicate the message of the gospel. Gerald Wolfe, the group’s founder and emcee, sings the lead. Prolific songwriter, Rodney Griffin, handles the baritone part for the trio, while Chris Allman, also a prolific composer, sings the tenor.

Singing News magazine and the Southern Gospel Music Association have named Greater Vision Gospel Music’s Favorite Trio. They have also received numerous honors for Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Video of the Year, and Artist of the Year. Additionally, Rodney Griffin has been named Songwriter of the Year every year since 1998, as well as Favorite Baritone. Gerald Wolfe has been named Favorite Male Vocalist seven times!

Every day of the year, Greater Vision is heard by thousands of radio listeners, both on traditional Christian stations, and via Internet radio worldwide. They are also seen regularly on the “In Touch” television program, hosted by Dr. Charles Stanley, and have also been featured on the Gaither Gospel Series.

This album opens with “It Means Just What It Says,” which went high on the Singing News charts. It's an upbeat affirmation that the Bible contains the roadmap to heaven. Gerald Wolfe turns in particularly strong performances with “I Just Came To Talk With You, Lord” and “Too Much To Gain To Lose.”

Another stand-out is “God Will Pass By.”

This project is a good mix of feel-good songs, like the first one — and the upbeat “Everyday People” (which talks about how each of us is important in God’s eyes, no matter our station in life) — along with meainingful, encouraging songs with deep lyrics like “Who Else Do You Need?” and “Above and Beyond.”

This is the sort of CD that you can play when you need a lift. It fulfills the purpose of true gospel music in communicating the message of God’s salvation plan and offering encouragement through music which has lyrics that express important truths about faith at the same time that the music is melodic, harmonic, and a pleasure to hear.

Greater Vision is great!
